Frequently Asked Questions
Faircape Security Solutions and CCTV Technologies operate as part of the same security group, working together to provide integrated CCTV, monitoring, and security technology solutions. CCTV Technologies brings deep expertise in video analytics and remote monitoring, while Faircape Security Solutions focuses on scalable, tailored security solutions for businesses, estates, and communities.
Our services are focused on the Western Cape, with a strong footprint in Cape Town and surrounding areas. This local presence in the Western Cape, allows us to provide fast support, efficient maintenance, and region-specific security expertise.
We provide complete, integrated security solutions, including CCTV installation, 24/7 off-site monitoring, perimeter protection, access control, alarm integration, staff and patient tracking, incident reporting, and advanced video analytics. Our proactive solutions are designed to reduce risk, improve visibility, support operations, and protect people, property, and assets.
We work with residential estates, gated communities, apartment buildings, offices, factories, healthcare centres, retail spaces, and other commercial and industrial sites. Our solutions scale from single-site installations to large multi-building and multi-estate environments.
The group behind Faircape Security Solutions and CCTV Technologies has 40+ years of experience in security and surveillance, and manages a large number of cameras across the Western Cape. This experience allows us to handle complex sites, diverse risk profiles, and demanding operational environments with confidence.
Our installation process starts with a detailed site and risk assessment to identify vulnerabilities and high-risk areas. We then design a camera layout and system architecture, install the cameras and recording equipment, configure monitoring and storage, and test everything thoroughly before handover. We also offer training, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.
Yes. We provide 24/7 off-site monitoring from a professional control room. Trained operators monitor live feeds, respond to alerts, and follow set procedures to escalate incidents to the relevant security personnel, estate managers, or emergency services when required.
We use video analytics to detect motion, define virtual boundaries, and trigger alerts based on unusual behaviour or events. Instead of relying only on guards watching screens, the system automatically flags suspicious activity such as loitering, perimeter breaches, or movement in restricted areas, allowing efficient and proactive responses.
Yes. Our systems are designed with remote viewing in mind. Authorised users can securely access live and recorded footage from smartphones, tablets, and computers, making it easier for managers, trustees, and owners to keep an eye on their properties from anywhere.
We take local power challenges into account when we design systems. We can integrate backup power solutions such as batteries, inverters, or support for solar so that critical components like cameras, recorders, and network equipment remain operational during loadshedding and outages.
We do both. We can install new CCTV systems or upgrade older, lower-resolution or analog installations to modern high-definition or IP-based systems. In many cases, we can reuse existing infrastructure where it makes sense, helping to reduce costs while still significantly improving performance. We scale to your requirements and security needs.
Yes. We provide access control solutions that can be integrated with your CCTV system. This includes managing pedestrian and vehicle entry points, logging access events, and linking video footage with access records for better visibility and incident investigation.
Yes. We offer staff monitoring solutions that make use of CCTV, patrol verification, and other tools to support safety, performance, and compliance. In environments like estates, factories, or healthcare facilities, this can help confirm that patrols are completed, staff are present where they should be, and procedures are followed.
Yes. We provide CCTV and monitoring solutions designed specifically for healthcare environments. These systems support patient safety, assist staff in responding quickly to incidents, and help management maintain visibility over key areas, all while respecting privacy and regulatory requirements.
We implement structured incident reporting and escalation processes. When an incident is detected, our operators or on-site security teams follow agreed procedures to verify the event, notify the correct people, and document what happened. Reports can be shared with trustees, management, or owners to support decision-making and follow-up actions.
We design our systems to monitor shared, high-risk, and operational areas while avoiding private spaces. We encourage clients to align camera placement and usage policies with relevant South African privacy and data protection laws, as well as internal HR and legal guidelines, to ensure responsible use of CCTV and monitoring technology.
The cost of a CCTV or security system depends on several factors, including the size and layout of the property, the number of cameras, storage requirements, network and cabling needs, and whether you require off-site monitoring or advanced analytics. We generally start with a site assessment and then provide a tailored quotation based on your requirements and budget.
Yes. All equipment is supplied with manufacturer warranties, and installations are supported by our technical team. We can provide maintenance contracts, periodic health checks, and ad-hoc support to ensure your system performs reliably over time.
You can contact us by phone, email, or through our online enquiry form. We’ll discuss your needs, arrange a site visit where appropriate, and provide a customised proposal and quotation for your property.
Yes. We provide ongoing maintenance and support for both new and existing CCTV and security systems. This can include regular health checks, firmware updates, camera cleaning and alignment, system optimisation, and fault-finding when issues arise. For higher-risk or mission-critical sites, we can structure planned maintenance agreements to ensure your CCTV and security infrastructure stays reliable, compliant, and fully operational.
Yes. We offer flexible lease-to-own (rent-to-own) options specifically for Body Corporates and similar managed communities. This allows trustees to upgrade to a modern, high-performance CCTV and security system without a large upfront capital outlay. Instead, the system is paid off over an agreed term through fixed monthly payments, after which ownership transfers to the Body Corporate.
Please note: these lease-to-own options are not currently available for private individual homeowners and are designed for sectional title schemes, estates, and multi-unit properties.
No. CCTV Technologies is not a guarding or armed response company. We specialise in CCTV installation, 24/7 off-site monitoring, video analytics and integrated security technology. We work alongside and integrate with your existing guarding and armed response providers, sharing alerts, footage and incident reports so that they can respond faster and more effectively. In short, we enhance and support your current security companies rather than replace them.
